Fluido BEL Blockage Alarm

What does the BEL Blockage alarm on a Fluido mean? this short article will explain what it is and how important it is to resolve.

Why has this alarm happened?

The BEL Blockage Alarm happens when the control panel notices the current has increased beyond normal working parameters.

Why might the current increase?

Normally a blockage within the impeller of the pump, but sometimes this alarm can happen because the capacitor has blown in the pump.

Is this an urgent alarm to fix?

The Aerator has 2 critical functions, firstly it oxygenates the water to keep bacteria alive. But secondly, and an often unknown function even to most people looking after this system, is the aerator breaks the siphon between the primary and secondary tank. It is therefore very important that this is fixed.

How much will this cost to fix?

It will be a call out, but not necessarily an emergency - most sewage engineers will charge between £200-£250 for a dedicated call out. All being well it's just a "strip down and unblock" job. But ensure your engineer has a back up aerator with him, because if it has to be replaced, being charged for a second call out seems a waste of money.
