Fluido BSP Blockage alarm

This alarm happens when the current (amps) increases on the BSP pump in the Fluido. It is normally easy to rectify, however it should be done by a professional as it involves stripping down the pump and returning all the components to the original design.

What is the BSP pump?

The BSP Pump is the pump which creates a siphon between the 2 chambers, drawing water from the primary chamber into the reactor. The pump also manages the activated sludge levels to prevent overpopulation of Bactria.

Why has this happened?

The alarm occurs due to a blockage in the pump. But it can also be a sign of a pump that is worn out or wearing out.

How to solve the problem?

An experienced engineer will quickly be able to identify if the pump is blocked or broken. Fixing it may just be a case of stripping down the pump and unblocking it. Flushing the lines is also a necessary afterwards to help prevent a re-blockage.

High Amperage can be a sign of capacitor failure, i tend to try and change the capacitor over replacing the pump.

Replacing the pump may be necessary, therefore always try and ensure you use an engineer that carries a replacement pump designed to fit the Fluido. Calling an engineer that doesn't carry these parts will cost you double, once for the diagnoses and once for the replacement.
