Fluido KWP Blockage alarm

The Fluido KWP blockage alarm isn't common, but vital to fix if it happens. This article describes the problem and why it has happened.

What is the KWP?

KWP is the acronym used in the Fluido for the Clearwater pump.

Why has the alarm sounded?

The alarm sounds when the current consumption of the pump exceeds the limit set in the panel. This can be because it has blocked or the pump is broken.

Which pump is it?

The KWP is the discharge pump

Is this an Urgent fault?

I can be if the pump is being used to lift the clean water higher than the natural gravity outlet of the system. In this case a blocked KWP can cause the whole system to flood which is a problem. If there is a natural gravity outlet then the fault is less urgent but needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

How to fix the KWP blockage alarm?

Fixing this fault requires stripping down the pump, and possibly replacing it. Your service engineer should carry a replacement pump to reduce the risk of having to return to site (which will cost you a second call out).
