In this article, I discuss some of the reasons for a compressor breakdown alarm on the Solido Classic and Solido Smart
The compressor in a Solido Smart is the device that blows air into the water, in the process oxygenating the water. A compressor is often referred to as a blower.
The S40 control panel on the Solido smart monitors the current consumption of the compressor, if it tries to run the compressor and there is no current, an alarm will sound.
There is a multitude of different causes, some of which are as follows:
The compressor (or blower) is located in the sealed capsule under the lid of the Solido tank. Opening the capsule should only be done by someone who has the correct tool to get the lid off, and knows how to reseal it properly afterwards. Resealing the lid incorrectly can damage the seal and allow moisture to get in.
Fixing a compressor breakdown alarm should be left to an engineer who fully understands the system. In the event of a flooded capsule, which isn't likely, but possible, then someone with experience of this system should be able to fix the fault and fix the problem that has caused the fault.
If you are in the south east, midlands and have this fault with no one to fix it, fill in the form below and I will contact you to discuss. Please also indicate if you have a gravity or pumped outlet version of the solido, (if you know)
